The Day Before...

It’s getting chaotic… There is lots going on but the nice thing is the spirit has been here all day.  I was able to go through the temple 3 times today. I did sealings with my parents, and then I went to do baptisms with my two best friends, Patrick Duff and sweet Amber Veater. Then for my last visit to the temple I went with one of my quorum leaders and two of my good buddies! It’s been a good day, but I don’t know if things are really setting in…. This time tomorrow I’ll be in the MTC. It’s weird. My moods are so confusing. I’m excited but nervous, happy and sad, anxious but tenacious.  But Heavenly Father is helping me. I’ve kind of just closed my earthly eyes and let him take my hand and guide me in the direction He knows I should go! It’s going to be the ride of my life and I can’t wait to see the kind of instrument I can become through Christ.  Until next time….

Opening the Mission Call!

On March 12, 2010 --
the BIG envelope was opened!

Many people gathered around for the big event...

after he opened the call and we learned he was being called to PARIS and would report to the MTC on
July 28, 2010...
everyone was so excited and proud! ...and some were even crying! Who does that?
(PS. Patrick Duff was definitely missed! We know you wanted to be there Patrick! You were there in spirit!)

Anyone who knows Jon Hoopes knows he is special. He has the biggest heart, and he is the best friend someone could ask for. He always comes through. He's hilarious and ridiculously talented. Although he's gonna be missed by so many people, he truly is going to be Heavenly Father's hands. He's going to be working miracles through Him. He is going to be teaching people how to have true joy in this life. He's going to teach people that families can be together forever because our Savior, Jesus Christ, came here and atoned for our sins and our pains. That because of Christ, we can live again! How wonderful these two years will be! We love you Elder Hoopes!
